On September 3rd, 2021, Margaret E. "Peg" (Abplanalp) Prutsman, 77, of Troupsburg, NY, passed away after a brief, unfortunate, illness. She was surrounded by her family and lots of love at the Hospice of the Fisher Home in Amherst, MA. Peg was born in Westfield, PA on June 23, 1944, to the late Ernest "Michael" and Bessie Hurlburt Abplanalp. Peg was a graduate of Cowanesque Valley Junior Senior High School. Peg was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother ("Nana"). Her life was dedicated to raising her 4 children as well as helping to raise her 6 grandchildren. There were few things that brought her more joy than spending time with her family. She hosted almost every holiday at her home throughout the years, and it was during those family gatherings that some of her and her family's favorite memories were made. She was known for her kind, warm, and welcoming personality. Anyone that walked into her house instantly felt at home. She had a love for music including Charley Pride, Alan Jackson, and all country Christmas albums. She loved all aspects of the Christmas season and was known for her elaborate Christmas displays at her home. Most of all she enjoyed getting together with family and friends during the holidays. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 59 years, Roderick Prutsman; daughter Pamela Payne and her husband Jeffrey Payne of Painted Post, NY; daughter Angela Whitfield and her husband Michael Whitfield of Cohoes, NY; daughter Darlene Prutsman, of Clearwater, FL, and son Michael Prutsman and his wife April Prutsman of Olean, NY;. She also leaves behind her sister Joyce Cary, of Potter Brook, PA and her sister-in-law Jane Abplanalp, of Westfield, PA. She was predeceased by both of her parents, as well as by a sister, Betty Nudd and her beloved brother, John Abplanalp of Westfield, PA. Her grandchildren are left of only the fondest and most cherished memories of her. She leaves behind 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; Mandi Bineault, her husband Jeff Bineault, and their two children, Benjamin and Charlotte; Tiffany Davis, her husband, Chris Davis, and their son Dax Davis; Gina Bates, her husband Kyle Bates, and their two children Connor and Jacob Bates; Jared Payne and his girlfriend Akshara "Cara," Paulraj; Nicole Leonard and her boyfriend Zach Stine, and Carly Leonard and her fiancé Brent Green. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Peg's family would like to take the opportunity to thank the many who provided help and kindness to her in her final weeks of life. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Peg's life on Saturday, September 11, 2021 from 11-1, with funeral services to follow at the Troupsburg United Methodist Church, 913 County Route 82, Troupsburg, NY 14885. Her burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Troupsburg, NY. In lieu of flowers, the memorial contributions may be made to the home where Peg spent the final days of her life in the loving care of, the Hospice of the Fisher Home,1165 North Pleasant Street, Amherst, MA, 01002
