Obituary of Melvin S. Casinelli

Melvin S. Casinelli, 71, of 1572 Pine St. Woodhull, NY, passed away Thursday, November 8th 2012 at home after a long illness. Born in Woodhull, NY, February 23rd 1941, he was the son of Emilio and Minnie Miller Casinelli. A graduate of Woodhull High School, he retired as a Master Sgt. from the United States Air Force after more that 20 years service. A mechanic and custodian, he was employed at Symonds Ford Service, was a partner in C&M Auto Sales, worked for Central Tractor, Hibbard's Auto Service and the Town of Woodhull. He was a member of the 1st Baptist Church of Woodhull, Robinson Lodge 649 F&AM, Woodhull Memorial Post 1740 American Legion and life member of the Woodhull Fire Department. He married Thelma (Tammy) Marts Taft September 21, 1984. She survives. Also surviving are children, Michael & Cathy Taft and Bryon and Jessica Taft of Woodhull and Nicole Taft Brown of Canandaigua, grandchildren, Kayla, Tyler, Jordan, Isabella & Ian, his brother and sister in law, Anthony & Connie Casinelli of Lockport, his sisters and brothers in law, Bernice & Jeff Smith of Woodhull, Sandra & William Tompkins of Medina, NY and Nita Mandell of Leesburg, VA, his canine pal Chance and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Ashley Greenfield and his sister, Rose Schumaker. Friends may call Sunday, November 11th from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the H.P. Smith & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY where funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11 AM, the Rev. Scott Towner will officiate. A Masonic Memorial Service will be held at 8 PM on Sunday evening. Burial will be in Woodhull Cemetery.
