To all who knew my grandfather-my deepest sympathy for you and your families.
My grandfather was an amazing man. A hardworking, selfless man that always put others before himself. A man that, contrary to popular belief, wasn’t a man to pick and choose or play favorites.
Out of all of the things that my grandfather was, the one thing that he wasn’t was a very special man to only one family member. He played an important role in the lives of all those he met. His heart was full of love and passion for his growing family. He was a very special father to his children, a very special grandfather to his grandchildren, and a very special great-grandfather to his great grandchildren. He had room in his heart for all of those who had room in their heart for him.
My fondest memories of him are all centered by two things- his smile and his laughter. Both of which were contagious. My earlier memories of him are of him standing with his big round cheeks curling into a grin as he chuckled so much that his whole body would shake with joy. As you watched him laugh, you couldn’t help but let out a giggle yourself.
Anyone who truly knew my grandfather, knew that his heart was full of love and joy. He was a man that had a very special role in everyone’s lives. And he will leave an impression that will last a lifetime.
~One of his very special grandchildren, Haylie Gross.

In Oct.1975 I was hired to run the Blanchard grinders in shop 6.John trained me..scared of the large Blanchard..
It took longer than expected. But he hung in there and was totally responsible for my future 35 years.Friendly and respectful ..he himself was a very hard worker with the intelligence to do any job.Thank you John..and a sad goodbye.
