Beatrice M. VanZile, 84, of Lake Road, Horseheads, NY, entered into rest on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at the Steuben Center in Bath, NY.
Born in Corning on May 13, 1937, Beatrice was a daughter of the late William L. and Louella J. (Morseman) Borden.
She married Richard VanZile on July 8, 1955. He preceded her in death on June 29, 1994.
Beatrice had been employed as a seamstress at the Marion Rohr Co. in Hornell. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed camping with her husband and children. They loved country music and enjoyed attending country western jamborees in the area.
Besides her husband Richard, Beatrice was predeceased by her son, Timothy VanZile in 1962, her daughter, Diana Pulver in 2005, her siblings, Herbert Borden, Leroy Borden, Wayne Borden, Waneta Oswald, Gladys Keegan, Pauline Gleason, Janet Conklin and Donna Jean Perry and her son in law, James Granger.
She is survived by her children, Steven VanZile of Horseheads, Susan Granger of Horseheads, Ricky VanZile of Horseheads and Tina VanZile of Mayo, FL,15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, her brother Maynard Borden of Horseheads and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Tuesday, November 9 from 10 to 11 am at the H.P. Smith & Son Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY. A memorial service will follow there at 11 am.
Her remains will be laid to rest next to her husband and son in Woodlawn National Cemetery, Elmira.
