Patricia M. Kegolis, 81, of Troupsburg, NY, passed away at home on Sunday, October 31, 2021 after a short battle with cancer. She was in the presence of her loving family at the time of her passing. Pat was born on May 29, 1940 in Mount Carmel, Pa, the daughter of Charles and Cecelia Lambert Dallazia. She was a 1958 graduate of Shenandoah Catholic High School. She continued her education by earning her certification as a Registered Nurse at Pottsville Hospital. On June 15, 1960, she and Joseph R. Kegolis were married in Shenandoah, Pa. When Joe took a teaching job at Troupsburg Central School, Pat and her family moved to Troupsburg. She was employed as an RN at St. James Hospital in Hornell for 16 years and went on to work for 24 years at the Bath VA Medical Center in Bath, NY. She retired from nursing in 2005. Pat was an avid reader and enjoyed completing crossword puzzles. She was a true animal lover and always had a pet dog around their home. Pat’s husband Joe preceded her in death on July 28, 2004. She was also predeceased by her brother, Charles Dallazia and her sister, Virginia Cook. Surviving are her daughters and their spouses, Kim Kegolis and Chris Snyder of Troupsburg, Maureen and Bruce Cady of Troupsburg, Karla and Rob Barrett of Lake Worth, FL and Lisa and Bernie Mullen of Port Charlotte, FL, her grandchildren, Steven and KaSandra Brewer, Brandon Brewer, Justin and Manuela Cady and Jennifer Cady and Caleb Smith, her great grandchildren, Chase, Ayla, Emma, Jeffrey and Alexandra, her sister in law, Loretta Dallazia and nieces and nephews. Following Pat’s wishes, there will be no services. In Lieu of any flowers, please consider memorial donations for the Hornell Humane Society. Arrangements are with the H.P. Smith & Son Funeral Home in Woodhull.
