Gary D. Gee, 67, of Sprague Road, Addison, passed away very suddenly on Saturday morning, November 17, 2012 at Corning Hospital. Gary was born in Penn Yan, NY on April 1, 1945, the son of Menzo and Laura Cook Gee. He attended Penn Yan Schools. He was a US Army veteran, having served during the Vietnam War. A long time employee of Shulman & Son in Elmira, Gary was a very talented mechanic and had the mechanical skills to fix most anything. He was also a very avid hunter and fisherman. On April 1, 1990, Gary and the former Joan VanTreese were married in Tuscarora. Gary was predeceased by his first wife, Margaret Church Gee in 1986, along with brothers, Ronald, Wayne and Wilbur Gee and sisters, Darlene Cornish and Jean Corbett. Surviving are his wife Joan of Addison, his sons, Thomas (Tina) Gee of Darlington, SC, John (Katrina) Heidrick Jr of Addison and James (Ellen) Heidrick of Addison, his daughters, Sandra (Pat) Cady of Darlington, SC, Tammy (Russell) Smith of Painted Post and Mary (Corey) Loucks of Addison, special boys, Sterling Davis and Glen E. Sullivan, both of Addison, his brothers, Robert (Peggy) Gee of Osceola, Pa and Kevin (Edna) Gee of Addison, his sisters, Carolyn (Larry) Button of Addison, Karen Walker of Kentucky, Marsha (Richard) Gardner of Penn Yan, Shirley Kibbie of Penn Yan, Joyce Cornell of Penn Yan and Elizabeth (David) Drake of Rochester, sister in law, Dorothy Gee of Elkland, Pa and many, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call on Wednesday, November 21 from 1-3 PM at the H.P. Smith & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY. Funeral services will follow there at 3 PM. Burial will be in Addison Hill Cemetery, Town of Tuscarora. The family requests any memorials be sent to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
