Obituary of Kathleen Mae Rogers

Kathleen Mae “Kathy” Rogers, 78, of Troupsburg, NY, passed away at her home on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Kathy was born in Hornell, NY on March 17, 1943, the daughter of the late Henry and Anna Margeson Rude. She was raised in Troupsburg and attended Troupsburg Central School. On November 29, 1957, Kathy and Robert G. Rogers were married in Troupsburg and were blessed with 64 years together as husband and wife. Bob survives. Kathy was employed for nearly 35 years as a nurse’s aide, working a few years at Bethesda Community Hospital in North Hornell and finishing her career with many years of service at St. James Hospital in Hornell. She enjoyed craft making, cooking and baking and looked forward to hosting family meals with her large family. She loved to host family gatherings for both the Rude and Rogers families and especially enjoyed having family together for their annual barbeque on July 4th to celebrate Bob’s birthday. She was an original member of the Troupsburg Ambulance Corp. and served on the Troupsburg Betterment Committee. Surviving is her husband Bob Rogers of Troupsburg, her sons and daughters in law, David and Lorraine Rogers of Virginia Beach, VA, Edwin and Terri Rogers of Troupsburg and Timothy and Karen Rogers of Chesapeake, VA, her grandchildren, Tara (Carlos) Dennison, David Rogers II, Amber (Johnny) Washington, Roshele Rogers, Eryc (Shellie) Rogers, Bianca (Adam) Saikaley, Mitchell (Fanny) Rogers, Patrick (Rachel) Rogers, Tonery Rogers, Meg Rogers, Taylor Rogers, Kealyn Greenwell and Claire Greenwell, her great grandchildren, Anthony, Alexis, Carlos Jr., Caleb, Riley, Jaden, Mason and Wyatt along with many nieces and nephews. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Anna Rude and by her sisters, Pauline Freeberg and Joyce Ann Hulbert. Friends may call on Friday, March 18 from 6 to 8 pm at the H.P. Smith & Son Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY. A memorial service will be held there on Saturday at 11 am with Rev. Brian Diffenbacher officiating. A gathering and Celebration of Life will follow at the Troupsburg Fire Station.
