Obituary of Patricia L. Sharp

CANISTEO: Patricia L. Sharp, 89, of Cty. Rte. 31 passed away Saturday morning July 2, 2022 at St. James Hospital after being stricken at home. Pat was a former cook at the Jasper-Troupsburg School district retiring in 1999 after thirty years of service. She was born January 17, 1933 in Hornell to the late Milford C. and Emma (Welch) Parks. On March 21, 1953 in Canisteo, she married Glenn F. Sharp who predeceased her in October of 2020. Pat had also worked at the former Loblaws grocery store in Hornell and the former Thompson’s grocery in Canisteo. Her past-times and hobbies included watching old TV programs, various selected crafts and she enjoyed her social club with the ladies at “Tops”. Her biggest past time was playing lottery tickets and visiting the casino. She is survived by two sons: Floyd (Diane) Sharp and Thomas (Pamela) Sharp all of Canisteo. 7 grandchildren: Pamela (Eric) Mansfield, Casey Sharp, Jennifer James, Lacy Taft, Thomas (Corissa) Sharp, Jr., MacKayla Sharp and Stephanie (Daniel) Anderson, 12 great grandchildren: Kailynn James, Elijah Meise, Meghanna Parrish, Ella and Axel Sharp, Oliver and Eleanor Anderson, Allison and Abbey Mansfield and Kolby, Connor and Kaiden Sharp, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was also predeceased by a brother Lloyd Parks and a sister Sylvia Haynes. The family will receive friends from 1-3 and 6-8 pm Wednesday, July 6th at the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home in Canisteo, where a funeral service will take place following calling hours at 8:00 pm with rev. Brian Diffenbacher officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions in Pat’s name may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
