GREENWOOD: Kathleen O. Crittenden, 86, of Ste. Rte. 248 Main St. passed away Tuesday afternoon, September 20, 2022 at the Arnot Ogden Hospital in Elmira following a brief illness. Kathleen was born October 8, 1935 in the town of Greenwood, to the late Merle and Mabel (York) Greene. On October 24, 1953 in Whitesville, she married Karl M. Crittenden who survives and resides in Greenwood. Kathleen was a graduate of Greenwood Central School and a life long resident of Greenwood. She was very proud of her family and home and no one could ask for a better housewife and mother who kept her home in “immaculate” condition at all times and seasons. Kathleen will be remembered as having a great sense of humor and one who enjoyed the company of her family and friends. In addition to her husband Karl, to whom she was married to for nearly 69 years, Kathleen is survived by a son Dale Crittenden (Rebecca Compton) of Roanoke, VA. a daughter Sylvia Willis (Dennis Warner) of Greenwood, a brother Thomas (Nancy) Greene of Andover, a sister Eleanor Shelley of Rochester, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son Dana J. Crittenden, a sister, Elaine Druetto and brother Burdette Greene. Per Kathleen’s request there will be no calling hours or services. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions in Kathleen’s name may be made to the Greenwood Vol. Fire Dept. and Ambulance Corp. 751 Andover St. Greenwood, N.Y. 14839. Arrangements are with the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home in Canisteo.
