Harry J. “Jim” Rusconi, 73, of Wardell St., Corning, NY, passed away on Friday morning, October 21, 2022 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira following failing health. Born in Cromwell, CT on June 13, 1949, Jim was the son of the late James and Sarah (Day) Rusconi. He attended high school in Connecticut and entered the Army National Guard for two years following high school. Jim was a career sheet metal worker, employed by a sheet metal fabrication unions in Connecticut and Elmira. He married the former Audrey L. Friends who survives. Jim was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Hornby Rod and Gun Club and the Cromwell Fish and Game Club. He was also a member of the Corning VFW Post and the Corning American Legion Post. Jim loved to cook and was known to prepare wonderful dishes. Surviving is Jim’s wife, Audrey Rusconi of Corning, his beloved step daughters, Theresa Ashworth of Hornell, Shelly (Mark) Kelly of Hornell and Becky Austin of Corning, 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, his mother-in-law, Louise Wheatcraft of Bath, his sisters, Margie McKnight of Alaska and Barbara (Robert) Letue of California along with nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Betty Rusconi. Following Jim’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services. Eternal rest grant unto him, oh Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon him. And may the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Arrangements are with the H.P. Smith & Son Funeral Home in Woodhull, NY.
