Obituary of Manfred E. Naar Jr.

Manfred (Mike) E. Naar, Jr., 89, of Cameron, NY, passed away peacefully at home in Cameron on December 5, 2022. Born July 25, 1933, in Trenton, NJ, he was the only son of Manfred and Ida Lyon Naar. He moved out to the country in Cameron, when he was very young, living at the Lyon farm with his Grandparents and later his mother. He loved the country life and farming. He became a lumberman as a young man and became acquainted with his loving wife, Carol Naar (Cummings), through visits to Warren Cummings’ sawmill. Mike was a 1951 graduate of Addison Central School. He was involved in the FFA and always loved farming. Some of his first work was farming and amateur boxing. Mike and Carol were married November 20, 1965 in Bath, NY. He held several jobs through the years; farmer, boxer, lumberman, construction worker, business owner. He always enjoyed people and loved to talk to them and tell his true stories. He had a super positive attitude about life and loved to laugh. It would make his day just having a good conversation or sharing a laugh. Mike is survived by Son- Corey, Grandchildren Haley, Michael and Christopher, Great-grandchild Wyatt, Daughter- Kim (Steve) Thompson, Grandchildren Braden and Ryan.He was preceded in death by his parents, Manfred and Ida Naar, and his loving wife, Carol Naar. A gathering of friends will be held on Saturday, December 10th at 9 am at H.P. Smith & Son Funeral Home in Woodhull, NY, with Funeral Services at 10 am. Burial will be directly after the Funeral at Townline Cemetery in Cameron Mills, NY. A Celebration of Life will be held directly after the Burial at the Cameron Firehall.
