Obituary of Frederick J. Shippee Jr.

Frederick Jerome Shippee Jr., 79, of Cty. Rte. 10 A, Cameron, NY, passed away at home on Sunday, December 25, 2022. Fred was born in Putnam, Connecticut on February 24, 1943, son of the late Frederick J. and Elsie Burton Shippee. Raised in Putnam, he was a 1958 graduate of Putnam Technical School. Following high school, Fred studied for the electrical field in college. He served in the National Guard during the Vietnam era. Fred worked as a remodeling contractor for many years. In his retirement from building trades, he operated a small engine repair business. Fred was an animal lover, especially his beloved dog Shadow. A very generous man, Fred was the type that would give his shirt off his back to someone in need. He would help anyone in any way that he could. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Simone and his second wife Ruth, his son, Jeffrey and his siblings, Marjorie, Elsie and Florence. He is survived by his son Mark (Holly) Shippee of Killingly, Connecticut and dear friends James and Tammy Hoad of Cameron. There will be no service at this time. Arrangements are with the H.P. Smith & Son Funeral Home in Woodhull, NY.
