Obituary of Janice E. Crans

Janice E. Crans, 84, of Williamsport, PA, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at Williamsport South Nursing Facility in Williamsport. Born in the Town of Tuscarora, NY on May 25, 1938, Janice was the daughter of John A. and Eliza A. (Moss) Crans. Growing up in the Cowanesque Valley of Pennsylvania, Janice was a 1957 graduate of Elkland High School. She spent most of her adult life in Williamsport where she was employed at Williamsport Hospital in its laundry department. Janice was a very longtime active member of the Assembly of God Church in Williamsport. She was a very well-liked resident of the Williamsport Elderly Housing Apartments in Williamsport. Janice is survived by her dear friend Cindy Hillyard of Williamsport, her sister, Alice Allison of Addison, NY, her brothers, Roy (June) Crans of Painted Post, NY, William Crans of Woodhull, NY and James Crans of Painted Post. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Eliza Crans, her brothers, Charles Crans, Harold Crans, Basil Crans, Pete Crans and John Crans Jr. and her sisters, Nellie Makitra and Clara Rude. Following Janice’s wishes, there will be no formal services. She will be laid to rest near family in Woodhull Cemetery. Arrangements are with the H. P. Smith & Son Funeral Home in Woodhull, NY.
