Obituary of Eileen E. Demun

Eileen E. Demun, 91, of County Route 126, Troupsburg, NY, passed away on January 16, 2023 at the Corning Hospital. Born in the town of Urbana, NY on August 5, 1931, Eileen was the daughter of the late Roy and Mabel (Hallett) Edsall. She attended school in Bath, and was a 1948 graduate from the Haverling Highschool. Eileen married Neil Demun on March 21, 1959. Together they made their home at Fi-De Farms on County Route 126, until Neil’s passing on January 3, 1995. She dedicated many hours to the Troupsburg Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and the Allegheny/Steuben Holstein Club. When she wasn’t volunteering for those organizations, she could be found behind the camera. Eileen also enjoyed watching the cow shows her family participated in. She loved to crochet, and donated many afghans to various events. Eileen is survived by her sons: Martin, Gary (Donna), and Keith (Lisa) Demun; Granddaughters: Teresa (Bill) Marris, Paige Demun; Great Grandchildren: Kimberlee and Brady Marris, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Neil, Eileen was predeceased by her parents, and brothers: Eldon, Lloyd, and Harold. A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 27, at the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Ste. Rte. 36, Troupsburg N.Y., at 11:00am, followed by a Celebration of Life at the Troupsburg Volunteer Fire Department. Officiating is Michael McCaffrey. Memorial donations are suggested for the Troupsburg Volunteer Fire Department Lady’s Auxiliary. Arrangements are with the H.P. Smith & Son Funeral Home, Woodhull, NY.
