Sheila J. Woodworth, 63, of Smith Road, Cameron Mills, NY, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2023 at Corning Hospital due to a medical condition aggravated by a serious fire at her residence. Born in Hornell, NY on January 1, 1960, Sheila was the daughter of Joel W. and Joyce L. (Colvin) Allington. She grew up in Woodhull and was a graduate of Addison Central School. On December 2, 1978, she and Christopher G. Woodworth were married in Jasper. Chris survives. Sheila had been employed at Hopkins Dairy in Bath, a cook for Meals on Wheels for Steuben County and later for Mercury Aircraft in Bath where she was an assembler and painter. Sheila eventually was able to be a stay at home wife and mother and homemaker. She found enjoyment and relaxation in jigsaw puzzles, knitting and crocheting and lately painting. She adored her family and the many cats that she rescued over the years. Surviving is Sheila’s husband of 44 years, Chris Woodworth of Cameron Mills, her sons, Jonathon Woodworth of Bath, Dennis (Cindy) Woodworth of Coopers Plains and Jesse Woodworth (April) of Gang Mills, her granddaughter, Millie, her mother, Joyce Allington of Woodhull, her siblings, Brian (Rae) Allington of Woodhull, Darlene (Tom) Wright of Addison and Rita (Shawn) Patterson of Greenwood, Chris’ siblings, Doris, Joanne, Sandy and Ben, dear neighbors, Ron and Gwen Feldman and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Sheila was preceded in death by her father, Joel Allington and by her nephew, Jeremy Patterson. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 2 at 11 am at the Woodhull Community Church, W. Main St. Woodhull, NY. A graveside service and burial will be in Woodhull Cemetery in the spring.
