CANISTEO: Joan M. “Joanie” Woodworth, 70, of Stephens St. passed away Wednesday afternoon, February 1, 2023 at Highland Park Health Care Facility in Wellsville, surrounded by her family. Joanie was born July 18, 1952 in Corning to the late Richard F. and Gertrude S. (Miller) Davis. On October 23, 1970 in Woodhull, she married David Woodworth who survives and resides in Canisteo. Joanie was a lifelong resident of the Canisteo valley where she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and dedicated her life to raising her children and providing day care to many children in the Canisteo area for several years. Her passion was the love she gave her children as well as to those that entered her door. The memories are many and her door was always open to anyone who was in need with no questions asked. She was loved by all who knew her. In addition to her husband David, Joanie is survived by two sons, Christopher (Amanda) Woodworth of Woodhull, Gregory (Elaine) Woodworth of Canisteo, a daughter Tonya Woodworth of Canisteo. Her grandchildren: Cameron, Connor and Cora Woodworth, Samantha Young, Matthew, Sarah, Leah and Grace Coddington, Caleb (Clara) Woodworth, Brianna and Hannah Woodworth. Three great grandchildren: Charlotte, Harper and Sophia. Joanie is also survived by four brothers; Donald (Barbara) Davis of Cameron, Eddie (Joanne) Davis of Woodhull, David (Carol) Davis of Canisteo and Douglas (Peg) Davis of Colorado, one sister Sandra Calton of Addison, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son David Eugene Woodworth, brothers Richard, Raymond, Neil and Robert Davis, sisters, Betty Crandall, Virginia Newton, Patricia Terwilliger and Beverly Martin. There will be no prior calling hours or service. A celebration of life will be held March 18, 2023 at the Canisteo Fire Department from 1-3 pm where the friends and family are welcome to attend.
