CANISTEO: Edna C. Sutfin, 87, of Maple St. passed away Saturday (Jan. 5, 2013) at McAuley Manor in North Hornell where she had resided since June of 2012. Edna was born April 2, 1925 in Hornell the only daughter of Kenneth and Elma (Pettibone) Kilbury. On November 30, 1946 in the town of Fremont, she married Earl D. Sutfin who predeceased her in May of 1992. She was predeceased by her mother in June of 1975, her father in January of 1993 and her only brother Kenneth E. Kilbury, Jr. in March of 1977. She was a graduate of Arkport Central School class of 1942 and graduated from the former St. James Mercy Hospital School of Nursing as a registered nurse in 1946. She worked as a registered professional nurse at St. James Mercy Hospital for 40 years retiring in March of 1986 and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Canisteo. Survivors include: two daughters: Beverly (Thomas) Pedlow of Perry and Karen (Eugene) Haley of Hornell. One son Gregory (Jane) Sutfin of Ocala, FL. as well as eight grand children: Bidget (Paul) Napierala, Matthew (Renee) Pedlow, Eric (Shannon) Haley, Adam (Megan) Haley, Joshua Haley, Kyle Haley, Nathan (Christina) Sutfin and Sara Sutfin, and 4 great grand children: Emily Schepisi, Megan Napierala, Jack and Madeline Pedlow. Edna is also survived by several niece, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 3-7 PM Tuesday at the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home, 29 East Main St. in Canisteo, where a funeral service will take place Wednesday at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in the Rogersville Forest Lawn Cemetery in South Dansville. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Canisteo Ambulance Fund, c/o Sandy Pierce, 35 Main St. Canisteo, N.Y. 14823.
