Obituary of Linda L. Grant

Linda L. Grant, 71, of Thomas Road, Woodhull, NY, passed away suddenly at Corning Hospital on Thursday, February 9, 2023 after falling at her home. Born in Hornell, NY on October 11, 1951, Linda was the daughter of the late Edward Dale and Margaret E. (Travis) Grant. Raised in Woodhull, she was a member of the last graduating class of Woodhull High School in 1968. She attended Addison Central School the following year enabling her to gain more class credits before starting college. Linda attended Corning Community College where she earned a degree in computer science. She held various jobs throughout her adult life including working at J.J. Newberry in Corning, Bro-Dart in Williamsport, PA, as a data processor at both Corning Inc and Dresser Rand and finally was employed at the golf course at Pinnacle State Park in Addison, according to Linda, the best job she ever had. She loved the many cats that had been a part of her life, she was a collector of porcelain dolls, enjoyed gardening, crafting, knitting and crocheting and simply spending time in her home. Linda is survived by her siblings and their spouses, Cherlyn “Dunior” Rutski of North Hornell, Brian and Ronda Grant of Cameron Mills and Scott and Amy Grant of Woodhull, her niece and nephews, Brian Grant Jr. (Vanessa), Allison Grant and Aaron Grant, great niece and nephew, Skylar Grant and Zachary Grant along with many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Maggie Grant and her brother-in-law, Walt Rutski. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 13 from 12 to 2 pm at the H.P. Smith & Son Funeral Home, 1607 Main St., Woodhull, NY. Linda’s funeral will follow there at 2 pm with Rev. Brian Diffenbacher officiating. Burial will be in Woodhull Cemetery.
