Obituary of Anna L. Simons

Anna L. Hackett Simons, age 103, of Bath, NY, died Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at the Fred & Harriett Taylor Health Care Center, Bath, NY. Born in the town of Tuscarora January 30, 1909, she was the daughter of Walter L. & Maude L. Goodwin Swan. She is a retired nursing assistant at Corning Hospital. Anna was a former member and past President of Woodhull Community Friends Senior Citizens in Woodhull and was a 64 year member of the Woodhull Rebekah Lodge. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Elmer Hackett and DeForest Simons, sisters, Ava Smith & Eva Robbins, her grandson, John Hackett, and daughters-in-law, Kathleen & Cecelia Hackett. She is survived by three sons, Gilbert E. Hackett of Lakeland, FL, Walter L. Hackett of Bath, NY, & Leon K. (Shirley) Hackett of Addison, NY, five step-children, 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 26 great great grandchildren, & several nieces, nephews, & cousins. Friends may call Saturday, January 12, 2013, 1pm, at the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main St., Woodhull, NY, where funeral & committal services will follow at 2:30pm. The Rev.
