CANISTEO: Marilynn J. Feenaughty, 83, of Stephens St. passed away unexpectedly Tuesday evening, May 23, 2023 at her home. Marilynn was born June 26, 1939 in North Hornell, to the late Arthur and Carrie (Bovee) Murray. On June 18, 1960, in Hornell, she married Jon Pat Feenaughty who predeceased her in April of 2015. She was a graduate of Canisteo Central School class of 1957 and graduated from the St. James School of nursing gaining her registered nursing degree in 1960. Marilynn served 50 plus years as a registered nurse working at the former St. James Mercy Hospital in Hornell and had also taught clinical nursing classes at the Hornell BOCES campus. She was a member of the Hornell Moose Lodge, and enjoyed traveling, fishing and camping with family and friends. Marilynn is survived by three sons, Kevin (Clara) Feenaughty of San Antonio, TX. Christopher (Juliana) Feenaughty of Hornell and Steven Glassman of NYC, one daughter Anita (Rick) Howland of Fredericksburg, VA. and daughter-in-law Donna Feenaughty of Canisteo, 15 grandchildren, Cody (Kristin) Feenaughty, Sydney (Salih Kalinbacak) Feenaughty, Heather (Brad Wancour) Feenaughty, Benjamin (Cassie) Feenaughty, Alexander (Talisa) Feenaughty, Brandon (Taren) Combs, Brianne Combs, Colin (Hannah) Feenaughty, Todd McDaniels, Brian (Robert) Jones McDaniels, Katlynn McDaniels, Nicholas O’Dell, Renee O’Dell, Susan Howland and Victor Howland, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a sister Margaret Nolan of Rochester and sister-in-law Robbie Sedtal of TX. In addition to her parents and husband Marilynn was predeceased by a son Jon Eric Feenaughty in October of 2020, a daughter Aimee McDaniels in February of 2021, and a brother Robert Murray. The family will receive friends from 4-6 pm May 26, 2023 at the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home in Canisteo, where funeral and committal services will take place immediately following calling hrs. at 6:00 pm. With Pastor Brian Diffenbacher officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Canisteo. Memorial contributions in Marilynn’s name may be made to either St. James Hospital, Seneca Rd. Hornell, N.Y. 14843 or to the CASA Addiction & Recovery, Hornell, N.Y. 14843. Arrangements with H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home in Canisteo.
