Obituary of Jon Alan Dennis

Jon A. Dennis, 59, of 2751 Cty. Rte. 102, Addison (Town of Woodhull), passed away at home on Wednesday, January 23, 2013. Jon was born in Hornell, NY on Oct. 10, 1953, the son of John O. and Arloween M. Allen Dennis. He was a 1972 graduate of Jasper Central School. Jon was employed in various occupations during his life including working for the Erie Lackawanna Railroad, installing windmill systems for a local company, spent time in the foundry at Ingersoll-Rand Co. in Painted Post and while living in North Carolina, he worked in a furniture factory. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a great NASCAR fan. His father, John O. "Jack" Dennis predeceased him on Oct. 30, 2001 as well as his brother, Mark Dennis in March 2006. Surviving is his mother with whom Jon made his home, Arloween Dennis of Addison, his sisters, Kathleen Lyon (Royce Hoad) of Cameron, Karen Lewis (Jeff Muller) of Bath, Linda (Martin) Glaccum of Bath and Pam Dennis (John Henderson) of Statesville, NC. and his sister in law, Janine Dennis of Beaver Dams. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 27 from 1-3 PM at the H.P. Smith & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY. A memorial service will follow at 3 PM with Rev. Brian Diffenbacher officiating. Burial will be made in Hedgesville Cemetery, Town of Woodhull.
