HORNELL/CANISTEO: Elizabeth A.“Liz” Koehler, 81, passed away Wednesday evening August 16, 2023 at St. James Hospital.
Liz was born August 3,1942 in Philadelphia, Pa. to the late George and Delores Ritz.
She was a medical records secretary for several years in Pennsylvania before retiring and moving to the Canisteo Valley. Liz loved the ocean and the beach. She was a NASCAR fan favoring the legendry #3 driver, Dale Ernhardt and was a loyal Philadelphia Eagles football fan. Most notably she was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend and cherished the time spent with family and friends.
Liz is survived by a daughter Jennifer (Kenneth) Gregory of Canisteo, two sons, Albert “Butch” (Mary Alice) Koehler of Lexington, KY. Eric (Paige) Koehler, of Quakertown, Pa. Grandchildren, Grace, Jacob, Anna and Faith Koehler, Blake and Lex Koehler and Danielle Gregory, one great granddaughter Elizabeth Gery. She is also survived by two sisters, Patricia Wrigley and Susan Kratz, and good friends Debbie Neeson and Sandy Leopold.
A cemetery chapel service will take place at the Whitemarsh Memorial Park Cemetery, Ambler, Pa. Wednesday August 23, 2023 at 1:00 pm.
Memorial contributions in Elizabeth’s name may be made to the Hornell Area Humane Society, 7649 Industrial Park Rd. Hornell, NY 14843 in honor of her beloved dog Charlie.
