Obituary of Barbara H. Peters

Barbara H. Peters, 84, of Belleview, Florida, formerly of the Town of Tuscarora, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Munroe Regional Medical Center, Ocala, Florida. Born in Hornell, NY, November 10th 1928, she was the daughter of Hugh and Sara Porter Hilborn. A 1946 graduate of Addison Central School, she married Earl J. "Ted" Peters on September 17th 1946. He preceded her in death May 14th 2009. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Susan Thornton and her son in law, Gary Sawyer. She was a member of Trinity Church of Tavares, Florida and was formerly active in the Community of Freeman as a former member of the Tuscarora Fireman's Ladies Auxiliary, the Valley 49ers Square Dance Club and Southern Tier Wheelers. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she was described by her family as a domestic goddess. She is survived by her children, Earnest & Shirley Peters of Pittsford, NY, Bruce & Annette Peters of Belleview, Florida, Michael & Laurie Peters of Addison, Linda Sawyer of Belleview, Florida and Julie & Michael Cruse of Round Rock, Texas. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and several great grandchildren along with her brothers, Lewis & Douglas Hilborn of Addison and David Hilborn of Arlington, Tenn. Friends may call on Friday, February 15th from 7-9 PM at the H.P. Smith & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY where funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 1 PM. The Rev. Sandra Olmstead will officiate. Burial will be in Peters Family Cemetery, Town of Woodhull. Service: Saturday, February 16, 2013 1:00 PM H.P. Smith & Son Inc.
