Margaret and Pete were just a part of growing up in Canisteo! We were transplants, but living a couple doors down, we were immediately welcomed and felt the love all through the years. Long after leaving Canisteo, I could look forward to a note from Margaret at Christmas, and will fondly remember her as a dedicated, kind and loving woman, neighbor and friend.

Sending condolences to the family on this day that Margaret gets her wings & joins many of her loved ones, including Pete & her beloved savior! Margaret Sure made her mark in this community & leaves behind many pleasant memories for so many families in our Valley. We remember many visits to the Charismas tree farm with my parents and the chats after the tree was chosen. Pete & Margaret were a Christmas tradition for us and we looked forward to it each year. Church , Family and Community was their way of life and they did it with love for all . We will miss you but never forget what you meant to us!
With Love and admiration,
Bob Blauers (& Linda)

Margaret was a very special gal, she spent many hours each month helping in Prayer Blanket group making small quilts for comfort for those going thru hard times and then on a light note she and many others enjoyed almost 20 years enjoying the Red Hat Society and their antics traveling to many different places just for fun. Her love of the Historical Society in Canisteo stands high in her love of history. Margaret will be sorely missed as she goes to meet her Heavenly Father and return once again to Pete. Rest in Peace dear friend.... Ellen Bush

So sorry to hear of Marg's passing, one of my all-time favorite people. Peggy and I were in the same class at CCS and I spent so many wonderful hours at her house. Marg's home was the most welcoming place you can imagine for all of Peggy's schoolmates. I still dream about Marg's Texas chocolate sheet cake. Something else that has always stayed with me is this: somehow the stereo system in the living room was able to pick up an FM station in Rochester and right there lying on the carpeted floor in that living room was the first time I ever heard Tuesday Afternoon by the Moody Blues. I'm very happy I was able to visit with Marg in Canisteo right before she left to live near Peggy. Even at that age she had a wonderful memory of our lives together in Canisteo. RIP, Marg; you are and will be missed.

Life with Seeney
We shared a driveway for 32 years and a life since 1976 when we moved to Canisteo. Seeney, aka Margaret, was there to watch the boys grow up. She never tattled on their escapades, but Glenn and Rob always glanced to her kitchen window to see if she was watching. She should have written a book about the April Fools jokes she played on Glenn year after year. She was our chosen friend and mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. We are all so blessed to have the memories of shared holidays and birthday weekends. She will be missed but never forgotten. The Harveys- Lois (and Dick), Glenn, Barb, Caitlin, Melissa, Rob, Ada, Landon, and Brennen.

I think of Margaret every time I play the music of the song "My Happiness" on my piano. I can't remember how or why the two of us were speaking of that song years ago at a Kohoco meeting but at that moment in time, she told me that song held a special place in her heart. It was to the music of that song she first danced with the man who became the love of her life. My sympathy to her daughter and the others of her family. Those of us whose lives she touched, are fortunate to be left with only good memories!

Jesus healed the sick and Mrs. Stephens cleaned our teeth. Both were holy acts of service. She was the only dental person I saw in my childhood, and I don't think I was the only one. Every year across the street we would go and she would cheerfully and lovingly take care of us. It must have been hard and unpleasant work, but she did it with a smile and an encouraging spirit. She spent her life making other people's lives better. I am sorry for her passing, sure of her reward, and grateful I had the privilege of knowing her so many years ago. Would to God that we all could leave the legacy of goodness and joy she left.

Margaret was our neighbor for 35 years and a dear friend for more than 50 years. We are thankful that we were able to see her several time in the past year. We are among the many in the Canisteo area who will sorely miss her, but we take comfort in the knowledge that she is now reunited with Pete.
