Obituary of Kenneth Harold Woodard Jr.

Kenneth Harold Woodard Jr., 67, of Hardscrabble Road, Addison, passed away suddenly at home on Tuesday, December 12, 2023. Kenny was born in Corning, NY on March 24, 1956, the son of the late Kenneth H. Woodard and Marlene Jones. He attended Elkland schools. After leaving high school, Kenny enlisted in the US Army, serving from 1974 to 1976. In 1979, Kenny began a 36 year long career with Corning Inc. from where he retired from Corning’s IDM plant in Erwin as a machinist in 2015. Kenny had two passions in his life, stock car racing and music. He competed for 15 years in the street stock class at Woodhull Raceway during the 1980’s and early 90’s. His love of music spanned all styles of music. He enjoyed playing guitar and was right at home playing among family and friends around a campfire or other social gatherings. Kenny felt blessed to have been able to share his home with his granddaughter Aspen the last few years. As grandfathers tend to do, Kenny often would get Aspen into harmless mischief to test Aspen’s mom’s patience with them both. He will be missed by many. Surviving are Kenny’s daughter and son-in-law, Nickie and Jason Force of Addison, his granddaughter, Aspen Force, his step son, Chad Howell of Westfield, his siblings, Kathy Williams of Elkland and Marc (June) Woodard of Elkland, along with several nieces and nephews. Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Matthew Woodard, Ellis Woodard and Keith Woodard and his sister, Meredith Dibble. Friends and family may call at the H.P. Smith & Son Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY on Thursday, December 21 from 5-7 pm and again on Friday from 1-2 pm. Funeral services will follow at 2 pm on Friday with Rev. Robert Goodrich officiating. Burial will follow in Woodhull Cemetery.
