Michael M. Lang, 71, of Waddell Road, Addison passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday, December 14, 2023.
Mike was born in Wellsboro, PA on June 10, 1952. He was the son of the late Max J. and Mary R. (Croft) Lang. He attended Cowanesque Valley High School in Westfield. Following high school, Mike served in the 82nd Airborne Division of the US Army.
Mike had a 42 year career at Corning Inc. where he had worked at the Erwin Plant, Headquarters building and the Corning Museum of Glass. He was a member of Steelworkers Local 1000. Mike was an avid outdoorsman and particularly enjoyed hiking and spending time in the woods. He was a sincere, honest and selfless man. He always put others before himself. This is evidenced by the many charitable causes which he supported.
Mike is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and David Greenfield of Cameron, his son, Jamie Lang of Addison, his grandchildren, Skyler Lang-Sweet, Colby Lang, Gage Lang, David Greenfield III and Olyvia Greenfield, his brother, Ernest (Holly) Lang of Hartsville, his sister, Amy Jayne Lang of Cortland and several nieces and nephews.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Brian Lang, Joseph Lang and Thomas Lang.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 19 at 11 am at Woodlawn Cemetery, Austinburg, PA.
Arrangements are in care of the H.P. Smith & Son Funeral Home in Woodhull, NY.
