Ralph A. Swan, 93, of County Route 2, Addison, NY, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital in Bath, NY.
Ralph was born on July 18, 1930 to the late Ralph O. and Evelyn S. (Junker) Swan. He was a graduate of the former Painted Post High School and furthered his education at SUNY Delhi. He was a US Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Ralph led an interesting and adventurous life. He had belonged to the Peace Corps, serving in South Africa and later served with the United Nations in Manama, Bahrain in 1981 and 1982.
Ralph settled on Cranberry Lake in Addison and with his longtime partner, ViJay Kumar, established the Eagle Hotel Antique Shop which they operated for many years.
Ralph is survived by his sisters, Elaine Hayes of Buffalo and Caryl Copp of Painted Post along with nieces, nephews and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Evelyn Swan, his partner, ViJay Kumar in December 2023 and his brothers, Harry Swan and Charles Swan.
A memorial and burial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are with the H.P. Smith & Son Funeral Home in Woodhull, NY.
