Gerald was a wonderful brother-in-law, married to my oldest sister, Helen (Simonse) Canne. I'm the youngest in the Simonse family and grew up with Gerald and Helen's two children, Richard and Judy. He was the quietest of the five Canne brothers and will be greatly missed. My other sister (Elsie) was married to Gerald's brother, Ralph. It was a great deal of fun when the Canne's and Simonse's got together. It must be one great party in heaven with them all together.

Miss our phone visits we had every nite Gerald. But so glad that we did for so many years and the two years you could visit us in Florida. Enjoyed your company. And we had a lot of fun and laughed while we watched the ball games while talking on the phone. Just so glade we did those things. Miles apart but still with each other. So until we meet again Brother. I miss you and love you. May you RIP

I’m so sorry for your loss , I had the pleasure with meeting and conversation with Gerry when I worked at the Canisteo Manor taking care of several people and always stopped to chat with him as he was sitting there in the porch feeding his manor kitty and now I hope someone else steps up to do the same thing in his memory as he loved that cat and would sit there and talk to him for hours on end . It was such a pleasure to meet such a nice gentleman like Gerry for sure . I’m praying for the family as they find peace now knowing he’s in a better place !

I'm so sorry for your loss. I met Gerry when my mom lived at the manor and he was always a delight to talk to. My mom really liked talking with him.
