Obituary of Beatrice L. Farrand

Beatrice L. Farrand, 86, of County Route 119 in Addison, entered into rest on Monday, February 18, 2013 at Corning Hospital. Born in Olean, NY on May 28, 1926, she was the daughter of Chester G. and Ethel (Sherwood) McCaslin. She graduated from Genesee High School in Genesee, PA. Beatrice married Charles Duell who preceded her in death on Sept. 13, 1967. She later married Grey Farrand who also predeceased her on June 3, 2004. Also going before her were her brother Ben McCaslin and her sisters, Arlene Miller, Elsie Cook and Arlouise McCaslin. Beatrice was a long time furniture upholsterer, being self employed working from home. She had also been employed by the Addison Schools as a monitor and was an Avon representative for many years. A member of the Rathbone United Methodist Church, she was also a charter member of the Twin Rivers CB Club. She is survived by her sons, Chester (Maryette) Duell of Shinglehouse, PA and Michael (Luann) Duell of Addison, her daughters, Irene Cavall of Columbia, NC, Charlene (James) Runyan of Elkland and Carlene (Eric) Jones of Elcajon, CA, her step children, Walter Duell of Woodhull, Milton (Mae) Farrand, Greyson (Arlene) Farrand and George (Terri) Farrand all of Woodhull and Elaine Mead of Addison, her daughter in law, Cheryl Farrand of Avoca, brothers, Chester (Rosanna) McCaslin of Woodhull and Clair (Sandy) McCaslin of North Carolina, sisters, Ella Mae Cruz of Guam, Marie Miles of Coudersport, PA, Shirley Cruz of North Carolina, Nancy Barnette of Wellsville and Esther Chapman of Wellsville. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren several step grandchildren and great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Thursday, Feb. 21 from 1-3 and 6-8 PM at the H.P. Smith & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY. Funeral services will be held there on Friday at 11 AM with her Pastor, Rev. Morris Gridley Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Coopers Plains Cemetery.
