CANISTEO: Daniel W. Monk, 55, of Taylor St. passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at his home due to chronic health issues.
Dan was born June 15, 1968 in Blossburg, Pa. to Richard and Ola-Mae (Hoppe) Monk.
He was a music enthusiast who enjoyed all types of music. He also enjoyed watching westerns on “youtube” as well as history documentaries. Dan also collected model cars, loved riding motorcycles.
He is survived by a son Christian Petty, a daughter Allison Petty, his mother Ola-Mae Lampman of Jamestown, two brothers, Billy (Carol) Hoppe of Canisteo and John Monk of New Castle, Pa. and a sister, JoAnne Lawrence of Va. He was predeceased by his father and a sister Vivian Hilyard.
There will be no calling hours or service at this time, a celebration of life will be at a later date.
Arrangements are in care of the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home in Canisteo.
