Obituary of Sandra Lee Burdick

Sandra Lee Burdick, age 85, of Corning, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at the home of her daughter Debra and husband Fran in South Corning. She passed while in the company of her loving daughters.
Born in Stamford, CT on July 27, 1938, Sandy was the daughter of the late Frank and Anna Maude (Coughlin) Vitale. She married Donald Burdick on January 1, 1999.
Sandra was a singer/songwriter and got to enjoy her passion thanks to her husband Donald who provided Sandra the support to fulfill her dreams. Sandra composed and recorded 50 songs and produced 5 country gospel albums. She performed on the Grand Ole Opry stage and many more stages in her life. Sandra was also a housekeeper which allowed her to make her own hours. Sandra loved people and the conversations she had with everyone. Everyone who knew her loved her in return.
Surviving are her children and their spouses, Debra and Francis Mayer of South Corning, Donna and Robert English of Cameron Mills, Todd and Marcia Tally of Catanduva, Brazil and Jack and Anna Tally of Salem, Oregon, her grandchildren, Brandon Howell, Shawn Howell, Mariah English, Jesse English, Francis Mayer III, Eric Mayer, Todd Talley Jr., Ian Tally and Jillian Tally, 14 great grandchildren, her brother, Tom Angelo of Connecticut and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Sandra was preceded in death by her husband Donald on Nov. 12, 2021 and by her sisters, Nancy Russo and Jean Grinaldi.
It was Sandra’s wishes that no formal service be held. The family will gather for a Celebration of Life to honor Sandra in the future.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested for the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are with the H.P. Smith & Son Funeral Home in Woodhull.
