HARRISBURG: Kelly S. Springer, 45, passed away Sunday (Feb. 24, 2013) at the Holy Spirit Hospital in Harrisburg, PA after living with Diabetes for many years. Kelly was born November 1, 1967 in Hornell, to Lynn J. Vanderhoef, Jr. and Harriet (Kendall) Vanderhoef. In addition to her parents, Kelly was pre-deceased by her husband Terry Springer and her nephew DJ Vanderhoef. Kelly graduated from East Pennsboro High School. She was as a long-haul truck driver who loved her work. In addition to her dearest friend and ex-husband George Sherriff, Kelly is survived by 6 siblings: Dori Timmons of Duncannon PA, Laurie Rakocy of Mechanicsburg PA, Pam Vanderhoef of Halifax, Howard Vanderhoef of Harrisburg PA, Marie Hoffman of Ickesburg PA, and Donald Vanderhoef of Halifax. She is also survived by 13 nieces and nephews: Dana Clark, JR, Emory, and Dezarae Timmons, Taylor and Rachael Rakocy, Meghan Schreiber, Caleb, Hanna, and Kaitlyn Hoffman, Tazz, William, and Neva Vanderhoef as well as aunts, uncles and several great-nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Thursday, and Noon-1PM Friday, at the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home, 29 East Main St. in Canisteo where the funeral and committal services will take place immediately following calling hrs. at 1 PM Friday. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Greenwood NY.
