Steve was born on August 7, 1943 in Bath, NY, to the late William Jenks and Catherine (Giles) Fish. On June 26, 2004, during a family and friends’ picnic at the farm, he married the former Linda Vermeulen, who survives and resides in Cameron. Steve was a member of the New York State Army National Guard, and was honorably discharged after serving his time from 1964-1970. He grew up in Painted Post, NY but spent summers and all his spare time on his grandparents’ farm in Cameron, where he later owned and operated "The Meadows" farm, first as a dairy farm and most recently as a beef farm. Steve was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and everything farming. When not on the farm. Steve enjoyed spending time on Keuka Lake, relaxing and boating with loved ones. In addition to his wife Linda, Steve is survived by his sisters Marilyn (Kenneth) Thomas, Susan (Derek) Gould, Carol (Dennis) Naylor all of Corning, and his brother Daryl (Larry) Jenks of Groton, as well as nieces and nephews, Kenneth Thomas III, Katie Ruth Thomas, Jason Jenks, Catherine Jenks, Andrew Naylor, great-nieces Sierra, Kaylyn and Lauren Thomas and Eliza and Olivia Kile, and long-time friends. Per Steve's request, there will be no calling hours or service. A private family and friends gathering and celebration of his life will be held at the farm at the convenience of the family.
