I remember so many warm visits to Uncle Ed and Aunt Garness’ farm over the years. Throughout the seasons of the year, Uncle Ed was always busy. Often in one of his fields and on a tractor, he would give a friendly wave and then roll into the driveway. Mom and Dad(Bill and Elaine Russell Stewart) would pull their camper north to Woodhull after retirement in order to help during haying season in summer. They would take grandson Ian along to experience farm life- climbing on big hay bales, riding along on a tractor, and enjoying the wonderful view towards Jasper. Uncle Ed shared his wisdom when he spoke; how he had the best job in the world working as a farmer and yessir, how pie was so good for breakfast. He had a great laugh and sense of humor that Rich and I enjoyed hearing every time we saw him. As I became more interested in family genealogy, Uncle Ed had many stories about life on the Swale and the deep roots the family has in Steuben County. We are saddened to lose him but know he is well deserved of his rest after a lifetime of hard work.
Wishing Aunt Garness, Rae,Molly, Tammy, Kim, Chris and the rest of their families comfort and peace in their time of sorrow.
Annette, Rich, and Ian Morrison
