Obituary of Margaret Hickey Wilcox

Margaret Hickey Wilcox, 82, of Dawn Ave. Interlachen, FL died Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center in Palatka, FL.. Margaret was born on May 7, 1930 in Canton, PA, the daughter of William Loren and Fanny Woodard Lamb. She married Eugene Hickey in Lindley, NY. Eugene preceded her in death in 1988. Margaret was also predeceased by her son, Mark Hickey who died May 24, 2012, her granddaughters, Chelsea and Tiffany, her brother, Robert Lamb and her sister, Arlene Rader. Margaret was employed by Corning Glass Works in Corning, NY for over 20 years as a physical lab measurement technician. She was a very skilled painter and artist who loved to share her skills and abilities with her family. God and her family were primary in her life. She was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was very generous and could always find a means to create career paths for herself to support her family. Margaret faithfully attended the Bethel Assembly of God Church in Interlachen, FL for many years. Surviving are her children, Eugene Lee (Jeannie) Hickey of Smithburg, MD, Bill (Evvon) Hickey of Elmira, NY, David (Cindy) Hickey of Omack, WA, Paul (Donna) Hickey of Palatka, FL, Kevin Hickey of Interlachen, FL, Judy (Gerald) Chase of Addison, NY and Cathy (Cal) Gervin of Interlachen, FL, her step daughters, Diane and Patty, her brother, Jerry Lamb of Endicott, NY, her sister, Linda Wilson of Watkins Glen, NY, her Aunt Mary of Mansfield, PA, along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service is planned for Saturday, March 9 at 2 PM at the Victory Highway Wesleyan Church, Painted Post, NY with Pastor Ted Roloson officiating. Burial will be in Coopers Plains Cemetery, Coopers Plains, NY.
