Obituary of Catherine L. Warren

Catherine L. (Metz) Warren, 78, of Troupsburg, NY lost her battle with cancer early Tuesday morning, June 4, 2024. Cathy was the eldest daughter of Durwin and Thelma (Allen) Metz of Troupsburg. She was predeceased by her husband Allen G. Warren of Troupsburg in 1969. She was a 1964 graduate of Troupsburg Central School. Cathy remained in Troupsburg her entire life, raising her and Allen’s children. She became a local business woman operating her own Cathy’s Fabric Shop and Cathy’s Ceramics. She was a gifted seamstress and crafter. Cathy was appointed to the position of Town of Troupsburg Water District Clerk, that she held for approximately 20 years. She was involved with the Troupsburg Betterment Committee for a period of time and held position of treasurer. Cathy also was employed as head bookkeeper for several years in Hornell, NY at the Canada Dry Bottling Company on Thatcher St. until the day it closed. Cathy is survived by her children, daughter, Christina Warren and son and daughter-in-law. James and Lisa (Brass) Warren of Troupsburg, one granddaughter, BreAnn Potter, her sister, Carolyn (Metz) Cady of Troupsburg, two grand puppies, Duke and Bray, two nephews and one niece and their children. Per Cathy’s request, there will be no funeral service or celebration of life. Those wishing to honor Catherine may do so with a donation to the Troupsburg Fire Department in her name. Local arrangements were conducted with H.P. Smith & Son Funeral Home in Woodhull, NY.
