Obituary of Clifford S. Ashbaugh

Clifford S. Ashbaugh, 93, passed away on April 21, 2024, in Nashville, TN. He had a rough start in life, but it didn’t stop him from being a good and kind man. Cliff was born in Canisteo, New York to William Ashbaugh and Loretta Main Ashbaugh on October 18, 1930. But he was removed from the home and eventually fostered by Mabel Arwine in Hornell, NY. He met our mother, Martha Ann Dewey in high school, they married on May 28, 1955, and promptly moved to Texas. He was a proud veteran of the Korean War. As a Sargent, he served in Texas at Fort Sam Houston and then in the national guard in upstate New York. He divorced our mother in 1982 and married Ginger Payne and had 2 more children, then nine years later Ginger divorced dad in 1991. Cliff is survived by his children: Michael William Ashbaugh (Lori), Elizabeth Ashbaugh Weidner (Doug), Kevin Joseph Ashbaugh (Diane). Seven grandchildren: Chad Ashbaugh, Brent Ashbaugh, Marshall Weidner, Rebecca Wright, Sarah Weidner Gray, and Nine great grandchildren. He is survived by two other children, Christopher Ashbaugh and Justine Ashbaugh. Graveside services will be held at Hartsville Center Cemetery, Hartsville, NY on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 10:00 am.
