Winetta J. Baker, 93, of Baker Drive, Addison, NY, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at Corning Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Corning.
Winetta was born in Osceola, PA on April 13, 1931 to the late Ernest G. and Florence Young Baker. As a child she attended the Camp Brook rural school. She finished schooling in Addison where she was a graduate of Addison Central School.
Winetta was employed as a seamstress at the Elkland Garment Factory. Having never married, Winetta resided at her family home where she provided care for her parents until their passing. She was very close with her family, particularly her siblings, and was always at the ready to provide help to anyone in need.
Surviving are her sisters, Bernice VanGorden of Addison and Alvora Beck of California as well as many dear nieces and nephews.
Winetta was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Florence Baker, her brothers, James Baker and George Baker and her sisters, Anna Hall and Joyce Davis.
No formal services are planned for Winetta. She will be laid to rest next to her parents in Chenango Cemetery, Town of Troupsburg.
