CANISTEO; Sandra K. Ritenburg, 58, of Ste. Rte. 36 passed away peacefully Saturday evening, July 27, 2024, at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Sandra was born December 31, 1965 in St. Louis, MO to the late Harvey and MaryLou (Drake) Hager. On April 25, 1984, in North Hornell, she married Jeffrey Ritenburg who survives and resides in Canisteo.
Sandra owned and operated Country Kids Day Care out of her home. Prior to her business she provided home health care in the area for several years. In her spare time she enjoyed crafting, camping and shopping for great deals.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her seven children. Daughters: Ashley (Jeremy) Morgan of Canisteo, Nicole Ritenburg of Dansville, Heather (Josh) Duthoy of Nunda, and Brittany Ritenburg of Hornell, her sons Josh (Cora) Ritenburg of Crossville, TN. Jarrett Ritenburg (Allyson Keough) of Canisteo and Aaron Ritenburg (Taylor Allyn) of Corning, and her 9 grandchildren, Makenzie, Christopher, Zachary, Ava, Sophia, Lucas, Arianna, Peyton and Nora. Sandra is also survived by a sister, Kathy Gerdes of Mountain Home, AR.
The family will receive friends for a short period of fellowship from 5-7 pm Saturday, August 3rd at the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home in Canisteo.
