HORNELL: Susan L. Kull, 69 of Miles Ave. passed away peacefully Saturday morning, August 31, 2024 at her home surrounded by the love and care of her family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Susan was born June 6, 1955 in Corning to the late John and Bernice (Olds) Baker. She was a graduate of Canisteo Central school class of 1974 and attended Alfred State College, earning an electrical degree. She was a long-time employee at Alstom in Hornell as an electrician, and was very involved in Union business as the secretary treasurer for Local 2741 AFL-CIO.
Outside of work, Susan was an avid photographer, who particularly enjoyed capturing nature, her family and friends. She enjoyed being in the outdoors, crafting and incorporating her photography into her crafts. She was a fan of the Buffalo Bills and NASCAR, though she had no real favorite driver (as long as they drove a “Chevy”). The TV series Yellowstone was also a favorite of Susan’s, and she couldn’t wait for the next episode. Her greatest pleasure was being a grandmother; her grandchildren, their photos, and their achievements always brought a joy to her heart.
Susan is survived by her daughter Kristen (Garan) Dimuzio of Rico, CO. her long- time companion and friend Steve Groves of Hornell, his children Kelly (Kevin) Kuhn of Hornell and Steve (Valerie) Groves of South Dansville, grandchildren Rowan Dimuzio, Gracie Groves and Alexis Kuhn.
She is also survived by two sisters Virginia (Lloyd) Young of Canisteo and Thara (Donald) Fisher of Dalton, sister-in-law Deb Brokaw of Adrian, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Susan was predeceased by brothers, Jack, Richard and Robert Baker, James and Michael Osborne.
There will be no calling hours or service at this time. A memorial and celebration of life for Susan will be announced at a later date.
