Obituary of Donald McCormick

CANISTEO/HARTSVILLE: Donald “Donny” McCormick, 66, of Hartsville passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday October 15, 2024 at his home, due to chronic health. Donny was born August 21, 1958 in Hornell to the late Jack and Beverly (Frewin) McCormick. He was a life-long resident of the Canisteo Valley and graduated from the former Canisteo Central School District. For several years he worked for the Local Union #13 out of Rochester as a union pipefitter. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed watching NASCAR racing favoring the racing teams of the former Earnhardt Family. Donny was also skilled at cooking and baking as his family and friends could attest. He had a soft spot for his dog “Lola” and many other pets through the years. He is survived by two sisters, Liz Kinne of Canisteo, Lisa McCormick (Kim Kneale) of Hartsville, a nephew Jake Kinne, niece Kate Kinne, great niece Olivia Kinne and several cousins. There will be no calling hours or service at this time. Memorial contributions in Donny’s name may be made to the Hornell Area Humane Society, 7649 Industrial Park Rd. Hornell, NY 14843.
