Obituary of Malinda Byler
Please share a memory of Malinda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Malinda Byler was born November 17, 1985 in Clymer, NY and raised in Addison, NY. Her last years were spent in Addison, NY sharing a property with Dad and Mom on Hardscrabble Rd. She was survived by her parents Samuel and Gertrude Byler, and her nine siblings: Fannie (Samuel) Garber, Lydia (Stephen) Kurtz, Joe (Barbara), Christian (Emily), Daniel (Leanna), Jonas (Cindy), Samuel Jr., Omar (Miriam), and Israel (Jennifer) Byler.
Malinda’s last years were dampened with mental illness, but her presence and positive energy were enjoyed by all. She possessed unparalleled determination and work ethic. Her leadership and desire for education resulted in the successful homeschooling of Daniel, Jonas, Samuel, Omar, and Israel. Her burning desire for higher learning inspired the younger brothers to pursue education beyond her ability to teach. She went on, even after falling ill, to achieve a CNA certification in 2012.
Other interests and hobbies included gardening, sewing, caring for the animals, singing, and family games. Malinda was particularly fond of the outdoors and appreciated its calm and peace more than most.
Her abrupt passing has left a huge hole in the hearts of family. Her warm spirit and charismatic presence will be severely missed. The Bylers wish for everyone to find comfort in knowing Malinda is in eternal rest and peace with her Lord and savior, Jesus Christ. No more suffering and no more sorrow for Malinda. We all look forward to reuniting on heaven’s shore soon.
Malinda’s family will receive friends on Monday, December 9 from 10 am to 12 pm at the H.P. Smith & Son Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY. Funeral services will follow there at 12 pm with Rev. Scott Towner officiating.
Malinda will be laid to rest in Hardscrabble Hill Cemetery, Rathbone, NY.
