Obituary of Rudolph H. Hauptman

Rudolph H. Hauptman, 79, of 3 Meadow Lane, Painted Post, NY, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Corning Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Corning, NY, September 20, 1933, he was the son of Rudolph E. & Doris M. Otte Hauptman. He was a member of the Painted Post Lions Club, the Chemung Valley Region Antique Car Club and was an avid stamp collector and amateur photographer. A graduate of Corning Free Academy, he attended Alfred State College and Corning Community College. A former employee of Corning Hospital-Founders Pavilion, he retired as the Comptroller of Founders Pavilion in 1988. He married Beverly Herrington April 15, 1967, she survives. Also surviving are his brother, Robert J. Hauptman of Painted Post, NY, his special nephew, Erich (Beth) Hauptman, niece, Marisa (Rick) Elston, his niece, Andrea (Rob) Dipold and nephew, Marc (Denise) Pelych, special sisters-in-law, Ina (Bud) Cramer & Barbara (Ray) Morseman, brother-in-law, Donald Herrington, and very good friend, Arnold Allen. His sister, Ruth Pelych, is deceased. A celebration of Rudy's life will take place 1pm -3pm, Sunday, July 21st at the Forest View-Gang Mills Fire Station, Forest Drive, Painted Post, NY with remembrances at 2pm. Refreshments will be provided. Memorial donations will be received for the Owl Fund at Founders Pavilion, 205 East 1st St., Corning, NY 14830.
