Obituary of Georgia C. Wright

CANISTEO: Georgia C. Wright, 76, passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 25, 2024 at the Livingston County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Mt. Morris. Georgia was a life long resident of the Canisteo Valley where she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was born February 22, 1948 in Buffalo to the late Douglas S. and Marjorie T. (Wainwright) Magee. On April 12, 1980 at the Canisteo First United Methodist Church, she married Clifton Wright who survives and resides in Canisteo. She was a graduate of Canisteo Central School who enjoyed crafts, mystery novels and decorating around the holidays. Georgia was also a member of the Canisteo First United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband of nearly 45 years Clifton Wright of Canisteo, daughters Toni (James) Stevens-Oliver of Rochester, Nicole Stevens, Suzanne Wright of Painted Post, step-children, Cheryl (Mark) Remchuk of Greenwood, SC, Deborah (Johnny) Deal of Youngsville, NC, Clifton (Roxanne) Wright of Dade City, FL, and Douglas (Stephanie) Wright of Canaseraga, a brother Douglas (Karen) Magee of Lockport, 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister Mindy Felicita. The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm Tuesday, Dec. 31, at the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home in Canisteo, where a funeral will take place immediately following calling hours at 2:00 pm. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Canisteo. Memorial contributions may be made to the International Rett Syndrome Foundation, 4500 Cooper Rd. Suite 204, Cincinnati, Ohio 45242. Arrangements are in care of the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home in Canisteo.
