Betty J. Dewey, 74, of Water St, Bath, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Taylor Health Care Facility in Bath in the presence of her daughter Bonnie. Born in Bath on January 16, 1939, Betty was the daughter of Alexander and Anna Crapo Stinson. She had lived for many years in the Addison area until making her home at Spring Meadows in Bath. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her children, Ed Dewey of Vero Beach, FL, Bonnie & Scott DeKay of Cameron and their 5 children, Jennifer and Jeff DeKay, Sandy (Gary) Dennis, and their 4 children, Joe Layton, and Heather Elliott and her 3 children, Robert and Gail Rose of Newington, CT and their 3 children, Amanda, Melissa and Josh and Scott Rose of Eau Claire, WI and his son Brady, her brother, John and Donna Stinson and many, many friends. Betty was preceded in death by her son, Steven Dewey, her first husband, Ernest Dewey and long time friend and companion, Robert (Bob) Rose. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 20 from Noon to 2 PM at the H.P. Smith & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY. Funeral services will follow there at 2 PM with family friend, Rev. John Randall officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Hammondsport. Memorials are appreciated to the Finger Lakes SCBA as Betty was a great animal lover. Service: Saturday, April 20, 2013 2:00 PM H.P. Smith & Son Inc.
