Campbell, NY | Lewayne W. Byam, 70, of County Route 333, Campbell, Town of Thurston, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Corning Hospital following an extended illness. Born on October 24, 1942 in Westfield, PA, Lewayne was the son of David and Nellie Byam. He and the former Patricia Ann Casbeer were married on March 11, 1974. She survives. Lewayne worked in the foundry of Kennedy Valve in Elmira as a core man and pattern maker until poor health forced his retirement. When he was healthy, he loved to fish and hunt. Besides his wife Patricia at home Lewayne is survived by his daughters, Janell Byam (Glen Fuller) of Campbell and Cindy (Dennis) Byam-Woodworth of Painted Post, his mother, Nellie Byam of Westfield, his granddaughter, Neveah Byam of Campbell, his sisters, Bonnie Madison of Westfield, Madolyn Byam of Wilkes Barre, PA and Donna Parslow of Westfield. Also surviving are Pat's siblings, Terry (Diane) Casbeer, Donald (Barbara) Casbeer, Kathy (Rodney) Andrews, Gerald (Tammy) Casbeer, Lowell Casbeer II, Janice Lillier and Wendy (Brian) Bavisotto, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Anna Marie Byam-Woodworth. A memorial service to celebrate Lewayne's life will be held on Tuesday evening, May 28, at 7 PM at the Risingville Methodist Church in Risingville, NY. Pator Veronica Seeley will officiate.
