Obituary of Stanley J. Saxton

BATH: Stanley J. Saxton, 82, of Shattuck Rd. passed away Thursday (Sept. 5, 2013) at the Bath VA Hospital following a short illness. Stanley was born April 17, 1931 in the town of Howard to Jay and Ruth (Myers) Saxton. He was predeceased by his parents, a brother Douglas Saxton and a sister Leona Winters. Stanley was a veteran of the U.S Army serving his time during the Korean War. For several years he was a boiler plant operator at the Bath V.A. He was a member of the Howard and South Dansville F&AM lodges and had been a Mason for 61 years. He was a member of the National American Legion New York #1, and an avid outdoorsman who was a proud member and life member of the NRA. Stanley also enjoyed raising and selling cattle from his Shattuck Rd. farm. Survivors include three daughters: Kathleen (Gary) Holmes of Arkport, Yvonne Saxton of Hornell and Donna (Michael) Wyant of Fremont, two sons: Stanley Jay (Mary) Saxton II of Bath and Allen Saxton of Marshallville, Ohio.. Stanley is also survived by one brother: Irvin (Susan) Saxton of Cohocton, 11 grandchildren: Gary Holmes, Christopher (Melissa) Saxton, Sergeant Mathew Saxton, Scott (Stacy) Saxton, Naomi, Andrew and Angela Sutfin, Valarie and Victoria Saxton, Yvonne Marie and Louis Payne.,3 great grandchildren, McKenna and Jaedon, Braedon Saxton and good friend Linda Brewer of Bath as well as several nieces and nephews. At Stanley's request there will be no calling hours or service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
