Obituary of Donald P. Woodworth

HORNELL: Donald P. Woodworth, 78, of Airport Rd. passed away Monday (Nov. 28, 2011) in Angleton-Danbury Hospital in Angleton, TX., following a brief illness. Don was born December 29, 1932 in Hornell, to Grant E. and Lorena (Thompson) Woodworth. He was predeceased by five sisters: Phyllis Wyant, Roxie DuBois, Betty Clark, Pauline Rossman and Delia Burleson and one brother Herman Woodworth. He was a veteran and Sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1951-54 and had served over seas for eleven months in Korea. He had worked for 27 years at Arkport Dairy before moving to Florida where he worked for 12 years as a machine operator for the T.G. Lee Food Co. in Orlando, moving back to Hornell in 1995. Survivors include two sons: Timothy Woodworth of Tenn. and Richard (Terry Smith) Woodworth of Angleton, TX. One grandson: Jason (Kalia) Woodworth of Illinois. One sister: Dora Wilkins of S.C. and a brother Sidney Woodworth of S.C., several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Saturday at the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home, 29 East Main St. in Canisteo where funeral and committal services will take place immediately following calling hrs. at 8 PM. Burial will be in Hartsville Center Cemetery in Hartsville, N.Y. Monday at 10:00 AM. Memorial contributions in Donald Woodworth's name may be made to the donor's choice. Service: Saturday, December 3, 2011 8:00 PM H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. 29 East Main St. Canisteo, N.Y. Visitation: Saturday, December 3, 2011 6-8 PM H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. 29 East Main St. Canisteo, N.Y.
