Leona J. Cady, 90, of Absolut Care @ Three Rivers, Painted Post, formerly of Troupsburg, entered into rest on Monday, September 16, 2013 at Absolut Care. Leona was born in Coudersport, PA on November 26, 1922, the daughter of Ellsworth and Edith Stanford Easton. She was a graduate of Addison High School. On September 26, 1943, Leona married Howard E. Cady. He preceded her in death on October 23, 1989. She was employed for a brief time by Corning Glass Works. Most of her adult live was spent at home taking care of her large family and assisting with the operation of the family farm. A long time member of the Brookfield United Methodist Church, Leona became a lay speaker and assisted in services at various churches in the area. She was very active in ladies activities of her church as well as being an active member of the Troupsburg PTA. Leona was a great homemaker, sewing clothing for her family, knitting and crocheting needed items and was a wonderful cook and baker. Besides her husband Howard, she was predeceased by her siblings, Gerald Easton, Earl Easton, Robert Easton, Jack Easton, June Coax, Lillian Gates, Amy Wheaton and Donna Easton, her sons in law, Richard McIntosh and Frank Trunell, her grandson, David Cady and great grandson Brock Cady. Surviving are her children and spouses, Jean McIntosh of Addison, Steve and Cindy Cady of Troupsburg, Dennis and Bonnie Cady of Montour Falls, Joanne Trunell of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Dean and Pam Cady of Troupsburg and Howard Cady Jr. of Troupsburg, 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call on Friday, September 20 from 11 AM to 1 PM at the H.P. Smith & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY. Funeral services will follow there at 1 PM with Craig Snyder officiating. Burial will be made in Brookfield Cemetery, Brookfield, PA. Service: Friday, September 20, 2013 1:00 PM H.P. Smith & Son Inc.
