Obituary of Frances June Knight

CANISTEO: Frances June Knight, 80, of Purdy Creek Rd. passed away peacefully Thursday morning (Sept. 19, 2013) at McAuley Manor in North Hornell. June was born June 7, 1933, in Canisteo, to Charles A. and Florence I. (Feenaughty) Baker. On May 3, 1962 in Mills, Pa. she married Gerald T. Knight who survives and resides in Canisteo. She was predeceased by her parents, a brother Walter Baker and twin sister Flora Jean Baker. June was a graduate of Canisteo Central School class of 1951. She was an accomplished seamstress. She worked at the former J.C. Penney's clothing store in Hornell as well as various other shops and independently throughout her life. In addition to her husband of 51 years, Gerald Knight, June is survived by a son Robert (Bonnie) Knight of Central Square, three daughters: Susan (John) Fahl of Williamsport, Pa., Sandra Dietrich (James Sadens) of Peninsula, Ohio and Connie (Jerry) Parsels of Cameron. Two grand children: Shawn Fahl and Sara (Nevin) Kraus. June is also survived by a sister, Jane (Thomas) Lioy of Rochester and a brother James (Elaine) Baker of Canisteo. The family wishes to invite family and friends to a combined celebration of lives for June Knight and twin sister Jean Baker Saturday at 1:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Canisteo with the Rev. Beverly Welch officiating. Burials will be in Hillside and Woodlawn Cemeteries respectfully. Memorial contributions in both Jean and June's name's may be made to the Hornell Area Humane Society, P.O.
